In the Netherlands, a tap provides an average of 600 litres an hour. The 10 running taps in this work, represent 6000 litres of water per hour. This is the amount of water needed to produce 1kg of pork.

The work was shown in an exhibition at the end of one of the driest summers ever recorded in the Netherlands. #1 (PIG) is the first in a series of works in which I want to show how raw materials are needed to produce animal food.

Here seen in the exhibition ‘Space Identity’ at Square 28 in Amsterdam.

The water in this work is not spilled, but reused by means of a pump.
